Five MEMU Services Cancelled on September 10 for Track Upgrades

Essential engineering work on Chennai-Gudur route to impact local train schedules.

Commuters relying on suburban train services are advised of significant disruptions this coming Sunday, September 10. Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of five Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train services to facilitate crucial engineering work along the vital Chennai Central-Gudur railway corridor.

The maintenance activities are scheduled to cause a substantial six-and-a-half-hour block between Pedapariya and Nayudupeta stations. This essential infrastructure upgrade is expected to enhance safety and operational efficiency on the route.

The cancellations will affect several services, particularly those operating on the Chennai-Sullurupeta and Nellore lines. Additionally, one MEMU service bound for Avadi will also be suspended as part of this planned engineering project. Passengers are encouraged to check updated schedules and make alternative travel arrangements for September 10 to avoid inconvenience.
