Lighthouse Bus Stop Lacks Basic Shelter

Lighthouse Bus Stop Lacks Basic Shelter

Absence of a proper waiting shed leaves commuters exposed to sun and rain at the prominent city location.

Commuters utilizing the Lighthouse bus stop in Chennai continue to face significant discomfort due to the complete absence of any protective shelter. Passengers waiting for public transport at this key location are regularly exposed to the harsh elements, enduring both intense sunlight and sudden downpours.

Despite its prominence near the iconic Marina Lighthouse, the bus stop currently provides no respite, lacking essential infrastructure such as a roof or adequate seating. This situation forces daily travellers, including the elderly and children, to brave the weather directly while awaiting their buses.

Local residents and regular commuters have voiced their concerns regarding the long-standing issue, highlighting the need for immediate civic intervention. They urge authorities to construct a proper waiting shed to ensure a more comfortable and safer commuting experience for the public.
